Information security in the medical field is more than just a matter of confidentiality; it is the foundation for the uninterrupted operation of critical government services. Sbyte has successfully completed a comprehensive project to survey the operating environments of the Information and Communication System (ICS) for the State Enterprise “State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine” (SEC).
The State Expert Center plays a pivotal role in Ukraine’s healthcare system by providing expertise on medicinal products and managing vital state registers. Consequently, the stability and security of its IT infrastructure are priorities of national significance.
Scope of Work
Sbyte specialists conducted a deep analysis of the current system architecture, evaluating the status of server equipment, network infrastructure, and security tools. The efforts were focused on identifying potential vulnerabilities and points of failure that could impact performance or data security.
Key Project Outcomes
Following the audit, the Client received a detailed report including strategic solutions across two primary areas:
-
Optimization of Performance and Quality: We provided technical recommendations for the modernization and configuration of ICS components. Implementing these steps will significantly accelerate data processing, minimize the risk of system “freezes,” and enhance the overall quality of services provided by the SEC to citizens and businesses.
-
Development of the Information Security System (ISS): Based on the collected data, a clear roadmap for strengthening information security was established. This includes continuing the transition to an updated ISS model, which enables not only a response to threats but also proactive prevention through systematic risk management.
Expert Evaluation
The project for the SEC of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine once again confirmed that modern cybersecurity is a blend of high technology and strategic management. The Sbyte team continues to assist state enterprises in building a resilient digital ecosystem that meets today’s challenges and legislative requirements.
We are grateful to the State Expert Center for their trust and for our collaboration in strengthening the digital sovereignty of Ukraine’s healthcare sector.
